Movement Journey, Training, and Experience

Hi, I’m Laura—movement educator, retreat host, and midlife nerd-in-residence.

I help women in midlife build strength, improve mobility, support brain health, and navigate hormonal changes with more ease, clarity, and self-kindness. Through yoga, functional movement, breathwork, and rest, I guide women to reconnect with their bodies in ways that feel supportive, intelligent, and deeply compassionate.

I’ve been teaching yoga and movement since 2004—first in rural Ireland, where I ran a beloved movement studio for many years, and now in southwest France, where I live with my husband and offer restorative retreats alongside online classes and workshops.

I’m also a mother of four grown children, a bookworm, and a lifelong student of the body, brain, nervous system, and the ageing process. I’m endlessly curious about what helps us feel better and function better in the middle stage of life—and I love sharing what I learn.

My passion for brain health and nervous system support is deeply personal. My mother is living with Alzheimer’s, and her experience continues to shape how I teach, what I study, and how I support women in caring for their own cognitive and emotional wellbeing—especially in midlife, when these foundations matter more than ever.

Like many women, I arrived at perimenopause surprised by how little support or education was available. That experience reshaped my work. Today, my mission is to offer movement-based practices that honour the unique challenges and possibilities of this stage—and to help women feel stronger, more rested, and more at home in their bodies than ever before.

I have been going to [Laura’s classes] for a few years now. I really love it! I have found the weekly classes and workshops truly beneficial for both the body and mind. The yoga routines and postures are well-explained, the pace is gentle and the atmosphere relaxed.  Laura is a patient and encouraging teacher. She demonstrates the postures in a step by step manner. and her instructions are informative and clear. She has a very thorough knowledge of the human anatomy and of how the different poses work to improve how you feel in your body. For me coming here is an important part of my week."

Menopause is challenging, it is a natural progression in our life cycle... but that does not have to translate into meaning our beauty is dying.  With Laura's support, I am not only understanding what I am feeling and why, I am also laughing out loud in sisterhood about some of the crazy tricks my body seems to be playing on me! I can laugh because Laura's classes affirming, informative , nurturing and fun!

Laura has so much knowledge about how movement and body awareness affect how our bodies self regulate this natural process of menopause.  With Laura, we embrace 'The Change' instead of fighting it.  With Laura's program and classes, I am learning how to love myself, not lose myself, to menopause.  A change in heart supports this change in me.  Thank you Laura!
